I wore the wrong shoes

cliffs

One minute my legs are planted in the sand. In the next, I walk along the tugging tides toward the cliffs. I only climb up about halfway. I could fall if I go much further. I am a beginner and I wore the wrong shoes. At the base of the cliff, a young boy taunts a young girl. “You’re too scared!” he says. “No, I’m not!” she hollers. Above me, a middle-aged couple leans into each other and the man says, “Grab my hand before I go crazy.” By going slow, I make it down just fine.
