Sand Beach swimmers anticipate wave

124

Swimmers off Sand Beach anticipate the next wave. On its pull back out, the tide sucks the sand from beneath my feet and my body lowers by a slow inch. It’s good weather for swimming, but the ocean’s only in the ’50s. I go up to my shins in the water, but sometimes a stronger wave rises up to my knees. I can’t keep the hem of my skirt dry.
